D. Frank Elam, MSW, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Illinois. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He has been a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW) since 1978. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois—Chicago, Jane Addams College of Social Work with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. He has been employed in many areas of human services including school, community mental health, child welfare including foster care, developmental disabilities, domestic violence and group homes. Frank has worked with children from the age of three to adults in their eighties.
He has been employed as a clinician, supervisor, administrator and consultant. He has been a field instructor for interns in the professions of counseling and social work at all of the major graduate schools in the Chicago area. He has taught at the college level for many years including Governors State University as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Social Work. Frank also maintains a small private practice in the south suburbs. His areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, men’s issues, attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities, self-injury, gaming and internet addictions.
